Poetry 101 Rehab: Thaw

Cold
Pitons
Driven into
The sheer icy chasm of severance,
Make good footholds
To thaw
Love.

Really getting into Mara Eastern’s Poetry 101 rehab lately. If you haven’t already, check it out! She does some wonderful writing alongside some great writing prompts. This time the prompt was Thaw. My poem settled nicely into the Double Tetractys form today, a poem all about bridging gaps after a separation.

  1. Well, as I recently divorced, this poem makes me shiver… It’s very raw and powerful. I love its layout too. I’m flattered by your kind words and happy that you are enjoying my modest rehab. Your contributions are pure pleasure to read!

    1. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. That you associate with the poem is saddening, but I guess that is what poetry is about. Yes I enjoy the rehab very much, its a great thing you are doing, spurring writers on with great prompts!
